My baby this week ( 4-month-old: Week 3)

My baby's growing:

Even though crying is still your baby's strongest form of communication, he's also beginning to develop a sense of humor. He may start to laugh at pleasant surprises, such as your face appearing from underneath a blanket or a toy popping out of a box, provided it isn't too loud or startling.

Encourage your baby's laughs, giggles, and smiles with funny faces and lots of general silliness. Babies enjoy hearing a variety of sounds, and you don't need special toys or instruments to create them. Simply click your tongue, whistle, or make animal noises — your baby will love it!

Exploring objects

Encourage your baby to experiment and play with a variety of objects. Something as simple as a clean cloth diaper might occupy him for several minutes. Watch him suck on it, hold it, and discover what happens when he scrunches it up.

Give him a light rattle and see him delight in the sound it makes when he shakes it. An activity center or crib gym is a good choice for this stage, as your baby begins to explore the cause and effect of moving a lever and hearing a bell ring, for instance. Read more...

Wooden Alphabet rack

The Alphabet rack is one of those superb toys that never goes out of fashion. Made from real wood it contains spinning boards over 5 spindles. Each board has designs on both sides and covers numbers and letters with pictures to reinforce these. Each letter has been selected for it's phonic sounding and matches objects that are easily recognisable to make learning the Alphabet fun..

When will my baby start getting teeth?

When will my baby start getting teeth?

The vast majority of babies sprout their first teeth when they're between 4 and 7 months of age. An early developer may get his first white cap as early as 3 months, while a late bloomer may have to wait until he's a year old or more. (In rare cases, a baby's first tooth is already visible at birth.) Whenever the first tooth makes its appearance, celebrate the milestone by taking pictures and noting the date in your child's baby book.

Teeth actually start developing while your baby's in the womb, when tooth buds form in the gums. Teeth break through one at a time over a period of months, and often — but not always — in this order: First the bottom two middle teeth, then the top two middle ones, then the ones along the sides and back. They may not all come in straight, but don't worry — they usually straighten out over time.

The last teeth to appear (the second molars, found in the very back of the mouth on the top and bottom) have usually begun coming into place by your baby's second birthday. By age 3, your child should have a full set of 20 baby teeth, which shouldn't fall out until his permanent teeth are ready to start coming in, around age 6. Read more

hubby's favorite

I am currently searching a stainless steel drum for my hubby. My husband plays drums and guitar when he was in high school. He likes listening to pop rock and lovesongs. His favorite bands are Nirvana, Lifehouse and the Eraserheads. I forgot the name of his band. He was really captivated by the sound. I hope I could buy him his own drum set or guitar for his birthday this coming July.
